Online Security

As of November 4, 2015, Farmers Bank & Trust is one of the first banks with a presence in the South Arkansas and Northeast Texas area to make the switch away from ".com" and onto a new ".bank" domain. To ensure that the website is more secure for users, the Bank’s web address will change from to
On May 14, the new ".bank" domain became available for financial institutions. The domain includes several improved security features, including requiring verification that the entity holds a bank charter. This feature directly addresses the growing threat of cybercriminals setting up fake bank website pages to entice people into giving up personal information. The process of changing to .bank from .com is lengthy and several banks are in the process.
At this time, visitors can still access the Farmers Bank & Trust website through the old web address, The Bank encourages frequent visitors to change their bookmarks to the new, more secure to optimize secure banking.

Debit Card Security

A significant portion of debit card fraud occurs at merchants and locations outside of the United States.

For that reason, starting May 15, 2014 Farmers Bank & Trust will automatically limit the use of your debit card to locations within the United States. Whether you are using the Internet to shop at an overseas merchant, or you are traveling in another country, your card will not work unless you make arrangements with us ahead of time.

If you plan to travel to countries outside the United States, or you need to shop at a foreign merchant via the Internet, please call or stop in any Farmers Bank & Trust office.  We can make arrangements to remove the restriction from your card for a pre-determined period of time.

We apologize in advance if this procedure creates some additional burden and inconvenience.  It is far better, though, compared to the burden and inconvenience created by identity thefts and fraudulent transactions that are most prevalent at foreign locations and websites.
